On October 12, 2011 Magic Jump Rentals was chosen to provide its Inflatable Raceway with Bubble Balls, Inflatable Movie Screen, Sky Dancer Inflatables, as well as other inflatables to entertain the guests at the event. The conference was held by online giants like PayPal, eBay, Magento, and others. The conference was held to discuss the latest trends in online commerce and what programmers should expect in the upcoming years.

The party held during the first night featured all sorts of games, attractions, drinks, and festivities. Live music entertainment was provided by The Shins throughout the night. Cause Just 4 Paws Event

Wadjet PR put on an event on Saturday August 6, 2011 to help adopt and rescue dogs that are without a home in the Los Angeles area. Magic Jump Rentals was there to support the cause and help man's best friend find a home. We believe every animal should have a home and a family to play with, so we donated a Boxing Ring Bouncer to the event, which all the kids had a bouncing good time.

The event was hosted by Bridgetta Tomarchio and featured a lot of celebrities in attendance to support the cause. The event was a big success and a lot of dogs found a home that day.

When it comes time to challenge two teams to a test of strength, there is no better tried and true way to do so than with a classic battle of Tug-of-War. Magic Jump Rentals now offers you the convenience of settling the score between teams with its newest product addition: a special-made 50' Tug-of-War Rope.

Enough of the metaphorical tug-of-war; trying to convince others whose side is the bigger, better, stronger side is not very effective. Instead of trying to swing people's opinions into your favor, just swing the people themselves over with brute strength.

Tug-of-War is a simple game that has stood the test of time. It has been, is and always will be a fun and competitive challenge pitting two teams face-to-face against each other. Although it isn't a contact sport, risk of injury is present, so be sure to play fair.

Align two teams at either end of the rope and set the designated markers (a center line and marker directly beneath it on the ground and two lines on either side of the center line at an equal distance). Make sure the teams consist of an even number of players that do not pass a fair maximum weight limit. Once everyone is on their marks and set it's time to have a go at Tug-of-War.

The rules are simple, grip the rope under the arms and pull until the other teams marker passes the center marker to win. Falling, sitting, touching the ground for an extended period of time and pulling over the shoulder are considered fouls, but you need not be overly strict, after all you're simply having some fun with a classic game of Tug-of-War.

For added excitement you may even create a neutral zone in the center with mud, water, or any other sort of soft pit for players to fall into when they get pulled forward. Just make sure you pay outdoors.

Unlike the rope used, Tug-of-War is a flexible game that can be played in a variety of scenarios. Whether you're in gym class, at Army boot camp, at group fitness training or even just a picnic/party with family and friends, you can always have fun at Tug-of-War. It is also a great team-building activity for corporate events.

For only $25 it is a great addition to any event, from birthday parties to company picnics. Get together and test each other's strength at Tug-of-War, you certainly wont face the same challenege when deciding what game to add to your next party.

SAFETY: Wet Bounce Houses with Slippery Surfaces

Safety should always start with the companies in the industry renting out inflatable rides and Magic Jump Rentals takes pride in making SAFETY it's primary concern in conducting business, not money. Unfortunately, some companies would rather profit at the risk of injury to their customers by renting bounce houses or even combos with water. Magic Jump Rentals discourages this at all times!

So before even renting an inflatable ride, be sure to pay attention to the safety precautions your vendor takes. At Magic Jump Rentals, we take initiative in making sure you enjoy our rides safely. Our delivery personnel are educated in properly securing inflatables and know not to set up in high winds. And now with summer in full-swing, we would like to educate our customers on yet another often overlooked injury risk: wet bounce houses and slippery surfaces.

Bounce Houses & Combos
NO WATER ALLOWED

With so many customers asking to rent bouncers with water, we realized that the inherent risk in such play was being neglected. Please be aware that any inflatable game that involves "bouncing" action is NOT recommended to be used with water. This includes regular bounce houses, jumpers, bounce and slide combos or anything with a general bouncing area.

The vinyl used in manufacturing inflatable games gets very slippery when wet. This greatly increases the risk of injury to children playing in the bounce houses. At the least children can roll or sprain an ankle with the possibility of even breaking an ankle, or leg, or worse! So please be mindful of not wetting a bouncing surface or letting children climb into bouncers when wet.

Water Slides & Slip-n-Slides
WATER ALLOWED

Worry not, you can still beat the summer heat with some inflatable water slides and slip and slide rentals that provide tons of fun. Our water slides are all designed with safety in mind. With only a rope-assisted climber and slide (and no bouncing area) you can enjoy our water slides safely. As a safety conscious company we make sure to not allow customers to bounce around when wet.

So remember to be mindful of safety concerns when renting inflatable games. Water slides are fine, but bouncers should NOT be used when wet; and if a vendor tries to argue that it would be safe, keep in mind that the only thing that should be slippery is the sliding surface.

Magic Jump Rentals was featured in KTLA 5 Sunday morning news episode called Beyond Bouncers. Anchor Chris Burrous and reporter Olga Ospina talked with manager Arthur Bagumyan about the safety of inflatable bounce houses and the different varieties offered for party rentals.

Olga Ospina and Arthur Bagumyan mention some inflatable safety concers about operation and use. Arthur encourages parents to make sure they rent from a company that has safety rules, safety warnings near entrances, certifications for operation, and follow industry safety measures. Another concern is lead in the vinyl material. Some ways parents can make sure their kids are safe is to rent from a company that has newer inflatables. As inflatables age and get older, the lead within the vinyl coloring becomes more exposed to the surface making it higher in lead concentration, therefore, go with a company that has newer inflatables which are within the safety standards.

The citywide Annual 5K HopeWalk began in 2001 as a means of uniting the city of North Hollywood (No Ho Music & Arts District) and surrounding cities in Los Angeles County with a mission to increase health awareness. Hands for Hope noticed that children and their parents in the area were in need of healthier lifestyles, so they joined together with residents, merchants and other community organizations in the area for a citywide event that has attracted corporations such as Disney, Dole, California Credit Union, Wells Fargo, Adidas, Whole Foods Markets and METRO.

Due to the need and success of the 5K HopeWalk, Hands for Hope intensified its commitment to healthy families by adding the "Kid's Healthy Activity Fair" in 2006 to encourage youth and their parents to participate in fitness/sports activities in a way that is both fun and engaging. During the fair, kids will perform over 10 different fitnes and sports activities as well as healthy food tastings. A recent incident in New York left a lot of people running for safety. A fly away bounce house during a soccer match in New York injured 13 people as the inflatable went airborne and flipped over numerous times. ABC World news reporters visited Magic Jump Rentals, bounce house rental company in Los Angeles, CA, to get our view on bounce house safety and what people should know.

Magic Jump Rentals' Gary Torosyan was interviewed by ABC World news reporter to ask him about safety concerns and what can be done to prevent such incidents. Torosyan responded that bounce houses are considered "amusement rides" and there is a level of risk as with anything else, but by following the safety rules which are noted on every Magic Jump Rentals ride, parents and kids can be rest assured that they will be in a safe environment.

Most of these accidents that are reported, much like the similar incident in Arizona, are due to irresponsible operators and no attendants during the event. The studios keep calling and Magic Jump Rentals is ready and prepped. Most recently, Cartoon Network’s very own “Dude, What Would Happen” live-action reality show has invited us on set to help in the production of footage for their upcoming season of episodes.

The show features three male teenagers who wonder what would happen if some wild event, scheme, or experiment were to occur. They then try to create the event themselves and consult experts when needed.

“Dude, What Would Happen” ranks #1 in its timeslot among boys 6-11 on all television with a total of 2.1 million watching each episode. It is targeted toward viewers aged 9-17, which is right up our alley at Magic Jump Rentals, so we are happy to contribute to the show.

For one of their upcoming episodes, the producers of “Dude, What Would Happen” have rented Magic Jump Rentals’ very own Mechanical Bull. We can only imagine what the three teens will draw up with this ride on set.

Magic Jump Rentals is happy to have contributed to the 2011 Walk for Kids event hosted by Ronald McDonald House Charities at Exposition Park in Los Angeles on Sunday, April 10. The event was successful in raising $270,589 for the benefit of families with seriously ill children who are receiving care in Southern California.

The Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House provides a "home away from home" to support the health and well-being of children. Participants from all walks of life joined sponsors of the event for the fun-filled fundraiser. Foods, beverages and entertainment were aplenty at Exposition Park yesterday for participants to enjoy.

Magic Jump Rentals added to the fun with its donation of a Sports Bounce House and Potato Sacks.

All day long the fun did not stop. With so much entertainment and for a great cause, guests and sponsors, including Magic Jump Rentals, did not want the day to end.

4th Annual Walk for Wishes

Magic Jump Rentals was happy to be a part of the 4^th Annual Walk for Wishes charity fundraiser held at Mattel’s company store in El Segundo this past Saturday, March 5. The event is the Los Angeles chapter’s largest fundraiser of the year benefitting the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Nearly $200,000 was generated in donations and sponsorships on a day where 1,500 participants, including wish children and their families, joined local businesses, community leaders, organizations, schools and individual supporters “to share a day of camaraderie and hope”.

Everyone got to enjoy a day of food, music and fun on Saturday. It was exciting to be there for the 3^rd year in a row and we look forward to delivering fun to Walk for Wishes for years to come. It is a privilege to be counted on by such a great foundation for such a beneficial event.

Altogether, enough money was raised to make more than 30 children battling a life-threatening medical condition who live in Los Angeles County smile by granting their wish. The 4^th Annual Walk for Wishes proved to be a successful event made possible by the hosts, organizers, participants, partners, sponsors and donations.

NEWS: Response to News Regarding Lead in Bounce Houses

The California Attorney General, Jerry Brown, along with the Center for Environmental Health (CEH) filed a lawsuit against numerous inflatable manufacturers on August 11, 2010 after discovering high levels of Lead (Pb) in some inflatables. Magic Jump Rentals would like to address the issue and keep its clients informed about the matter.

About The Law

The problem arises due to a California state law, Proposition 65, which states that a warning label must be present on any product that contains Lead and is over the regulated limit of what is safe. On August 14, 2008, President George Bush signed the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act which lowered the limit of Lead deemed safe in consumer products. As of that day the tolerated limit was set to 600 parts per million (PPM), and on August 14, 2009 it was lowered again to 300 PPM, and as of August 14, 2011 will be lowered yet again to 100 PPM.

How This Started

From news reports and from the lawsuit that was filed, we know that the CEH discovered the Lead contents by doing an out-of-laboratory test on some inflatables that were old and outdated (about 4-6 years old). They conducted this test using a hand held gun which is known NOT TO BE 100% accurate. The CEH also conducted a test using about one inflatable per manufacturer, so they have not even tested any current or new products!

History and Any Health Issues

Inflatable Structures have been manufactured and used by children for over 50 years now. There is absolutely no known or reported health issues or problems that have been caused from children using these Bounce Houses. The CEH and Attorney General have not provided any cases or evidence of such health problems as well. Inflatables are generally used by children once to three times a year during birthdays and special events, and for a span of four to eight hours. Generally speaking, Lead is known to be a hazard in toys that are small enough where children might be placing them in their mouths or licking them, an act that would transfer the Lead content into the body of the child. In Bounce Houses, this is generally not the case. Children do not play in these inflatable structures long enough, and do not lick or bite down on the vinyl material, they are simply bouncing or sliding on the material.

Which inflatable should I rent?

Which inflatable should you rent? There are hundreds of different designs and styles to choose from in the inflatable rental industry, but which one should you choose that will bring the most satisfaction to your event? The inflatable rental industry is moving towards bigger products that feature numerous combinations and interactive activities. There are a couple of things to ask yourself when you want to rent a jumper for your party or event:

1. Is there a specific theme for your party? For instance are you having a Hawaiian Luau or Sports themed party? If you do have a theme for your party then it would be best to look for an themed inflatable that will match the party, or at least that doesn't contradict your theme. You don't want to rent a sports jumper for a girl having a princess theme, or a princess style jumper for a boys party with a sporting theme. Picking the wrong inflatable can be an awkward experience for the participants and the guests at the event.

2. How much space do you have at your location? Is your location big enough to fit a jumper, obstacle course, water slide, or a combo? Customers must take the responsibility of measuring their location before they start the rental process to make sure they are aware of their areas' dimensions. Some people fail to do this and end up renting an inflatable that is too big to setup in the area, in which case, it results in a canceled order, and, depending on the company's policy, a delivery fee.

3. What is your budget? Is your budget lower than $100? If so then you should probably look to get a regular bounce house. Combos, slides, obstacle courses, water slides and any other interactive inflatable will usually cost around $150-$250 (depending on size and location), so if you are working with a low budget or want to reduce your expenses, then it is reasonable to say that you should expect to rent a regular bounce house.

4. Where is your party going to be located? Having your party at a house, park, business, or beach does make a difference. Having your party at a public place like a park or a beach might require getting a permit or authorization before you can rent an inflatable. Also, these public locations might restrict people from reserving some of the bigger inflatables like an obstacle course, combo, or interactive inflatable, and usually will almost never accommodate a water slide.

5. Which age group is this inflatable designed for? If you are having a party for toddlers you don't want to be renting a big obstacle course. Knowing what age group the inflatable is designed for is a very important aspect of renting an inflatable. Renting the wrong inflatable can lead to safety issues as well as discontent from use.

How to Measure Your Backyard for Inflatable Setup

An inflatable can be set up on grass, concrete, sand, dirt, or even a combination of those surfaces. There should be not trees in the set up location. Trees with branches hanging over the inflatable setup location should be trimmed for safety. If this is not done prior to the inflatable set up, it can create a dangerous situation. Make sure that power lines do not interfere with the inflatable setup location, and if there are power lines present make sure they are at least 10 feet away from the inflatable.

Choosing a Setup Location for the Inflatable Bouncer

Decide where you want it to be setup and facing
What surface will it be on
Note locations of any nearby trees, bushes, poles, power lines or any other objects that might interfere with the inflatable setup
Note distance from nearby walls, make sure there is at least 2 feet of space on each side
Note any slopes present in the setup location

Measuring the Setup Area

The first step is to find out the space requirement of the inflatable you are reserving. Usually the space required for inflatables is about 1-2 feet of additional space on each side, this includes the height. There needs to be no electrical lines going above the inflatable or any trees or bushes rubbing up against the inflatable.

To measure your area without a measuring tape, simply estimate each step as three feet. For example if it takes 30 steps to walk the width of your lawn, it is 90 feet wide. However, using a measuring tape is the most accurate method.

You can also draw a diagram detailing the area, dimensions in feet, and locations of any trees, bushes, poles, or any other objects that might interfere with setup. Drawing a diagram helps see the entire area and where the inflatable can be setup.

Measuring the Slope

You may need to measure the slope of the setup area to make sure it will not be too steep. Here are some steps you can take to properly measure the slope of area.

Things You'll Need:

Poles of even height
String
Level
Yard stick

Use a line level, which is two poles of the exact same height (50 inches would be good) with string running between the poles. At the exact center of the string, a level is suspended. There are also notches at the exact same interval in each pole. Have one person stand on the slope holding one pole and the other person stand exactly down the slop from him holding the other pole with string running through the top notch.
Make the string level. The person at the top of the slope should move the string to the different notches on his pole until the level suspended from the middle of the string shows a level setting.
Calculate the slope by measuring the distance from the notch where the string was placed to the top of the pole. Slope is a percentage, meaning the number of units falls or rises in 100 units of horizontal distance. Every inch from the top of the 50-inch pole equals 2 percent of slope (with the top of the pole being originally level with the second pole, showing a 0 percent grade). The lower the string must be on the pole to be level, the higher the percent of slope. A notch 4 inches down the pole indicates an 8 percent slope and a notch 8 inches down the pole indicates a 16 percent slope.
Use another method of measuring slope with just one person. With a stick that is 50 inches long, a level, a pencil and a yard stick, stand on the slope holding the yard stick upright.
Place the stick on the slope, and hold the level on the end of the stick nearest you. Raise the stick until it is level.
Mark the height on the yard stick where the 50-inch stick is level. Measuring from the ground up, determine the height necessary for the 50-inch stick to be level.
Measure the slope of the land by multiplying the height from the ground required for level by two. This figure will be your percent of slope.
